When Grievers Become "Shut-Ins"

I am not "old," but I guess I am a "shut-in."
We love the old, the shut-ins.
We visit them. We bring them our selves.
We love them, where they are.
We accept them where they are.
We minister to them.
We do not say,
"If you want love, you come to us. Otherwise, you are out."
I wish you could love me, where I am,
Not where you want me to be.
Take your expectations of me and bury them,
else they could bury me.
We are in a brand new land we must learn to navigate;
Don't add to us the pressure of returning to your "land"
where we no longer fit.
That expectation is too great,
and it could plow us under.
Please pray for us, and love us, and don't despise us
because we no longer "fit" in your tribe.
If you must, see us as "the least of these My brethren,"
and love us as such, as your own Lord requires.
Send us a card of love, and of kindness, and with Scripture.
You'll never know what one touch of love can mean;
It lifts a corner of our grief and brings warmth.
Can you step outside of yourself and your expectations,
and just love?
Scripture says...
If you give all you possess...
but have not love,
it is as nothing:
you are nothing...
you gain nothing.
Please,
just love me.
